A properly applied DTF transfer should stay put through dozens of washes. When one cracks or peels, it’s almost always an application or care issue — here’s how to diagnose and fix it.
Quick diagnosis

The big three for adhesion
- Time — press long enough (≈10–15s; see settings by fabric).
- Temperature — hot enough to melt the adhesive, not so hot it scorches.
- Pressure — firm, even pressure across the whole design.
Skimp on any one and the transfer won’t fully bond. A second press after peeling dramatically improves durability.
Care matters too
Even a perfect press fails with rough laundering. Wash inside out in cold water, skip bleach and fabric softener, and hang-dry or tumble on low. Full details in our care & washing guide.
